There was a full day’s action at the Riverside Tennis Club Finals on Sunday 1 st September
ranging from Mini Reds for 8 years and under up to Senior Vets for 65 year olds and over.

The first session of the day provided some gripping matches. These junior finals showed those who came down to watch what we can look forward to seeing in years to come, including 13 year old Cam Simpson in his first adult final, playing in the mixed drawn event.

Ben won his first Riverside title, beating Beau in the under 8's competition.

Liz and Guy beat Sally and Cam in a close mixed drawn event going to three sets.

Rory just pipped Art and Charlie in the under 9 event. Good tennis from everyone involved!

There was fierce competition in the Men’s Vets Doubles as Steve Archer and Ken Isaacs defeated
Craig Wensley and Bill Herlihy 6-3, 6-4.

Harriet beat Jiselle in the under 12 girls singles.

The second session of the day got underway with the smell of the BBQ teasing the players! The second session featured probably the pick of the matches on the day with a good Men's singles final.

Harry beat Charlie in the under 10 singles.

Nick and Mike beat Martin and Guy in the first ever Men's Drawn event. Lovely new trophy and everyone seems to like the new tournament!

Mike ended a three year drought in the Men's singles with a hard fought 6-4 6-7 6-3 win over Jamie.

The ladies vets was a hotly contended contest with Anne and Sally winning 10-7 in a match tie break.

The evening session had a few weary legs however those who stuck around were treated to some enjoyable tennis.

Oli beat Rio in the under 18's singles.

The cakes were as good as always and clearly as popular as always!

Sarah and Sara won the first ever Ladies Drawn event!

The last match on court was the mixed doubles final. Mike and Karina edged out Jamie and Gill 6-2 1-6 6-3.
