Finals Weekend 2025
Thank you to the Tournament Committee and to the Social Committee for all their hard work in ensuring that Finals' Weekend went brilliantly again this year! Many thanks must also go to everyone who made a wonderful selection of cakes and to everyone who turned up to support the players.
The Open Events were dominated by Hattie and Jiselle (18 and 16 years old respectively) & Mike and Jamie Barry (slightly older!) Hattie won the Ladies Singles and Ladies Doubles, Mike won the Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles with Jiselle retaining her Ladies Doubles and Mixed titles; Jamie won the Men's Singles title again!
The juniors provided some great entertainment and the three way play-off for the Under 18 title between Carlos, Hari and George led to three excellent matches with Carlos taking the title. The mini red and mini orange round robin finals produced some excellent tennis and were played in tremendous spirit! Sam came away with two titles winning the Under 12 and Under 14 events, Henry won the Under 10s, Jack won the 11 & Under Event and the 16 & Under competition was won by Charlie.
The vets matches were also excellent! Kay made a winning return to Finals' Day and "turned back time" by winning the Ladies Vets Doubles, Mixed Vets Doubles and being runner-up in the Open Ladies Doubles competition! Steve won the Super Vets Mixed Trophy with Pauline and was also runner up in the Men's Vets with his partner Ken; Pauline won both of her finals winning the Super Vets mixed and the Mixed Drawn events.
Unfortunately the Men's Drawn resulted in a walk-over for Mitch and Arpad over Richard Dain and Oscar Mercer year but the Mixed Drawn was won by Nick H and Pauline whilst Jane and Louise won the Ladies Drawn.

Sam beat Tommy in an exciting Under 12 Final, winning in a close deciding tie-break!
Hattie beat Jiselle in straight sets to win her first ladies singles' title.
Sam won his second title of the day beating Hugo in the Under 14 Singles Final
We were very proud of the mini reds who all played really sportingly (and well!) in their four-way play-off which was won by Florence.

Steve and Pauline beat Gary and Sara to claim the Senior Vets title.
Carlos was presented with his 18 & Under trophy by Club President, Keith Chapman
Jiselle and Hattie retained their ladies' doubles title with a straight sets win over Kay and Carolyn.
Charlie beat Christian in the Boys 16 & Under Final.
Jack beat George in the 11 & Under Boys Singles Final
Henry beat George in the Mini Green Final.
Mike and Jake won the Men's Doubles defeating Jamie and Sam

The Men's Vets Doubles was decided in a Championship Tie-Break with James and Bill beating Steve and Ken. Their trophy was presented by Pam.
Another championship tie-break decider in the Mixed Vets which was won by Kay and John; Henrietta and James were the runners-up.
