The adult/junior tournament on Friday evening was great fun! The A event was won by Andy and Thomas James and the B event by John Barry and Alex Horsfall. Many thanks to everyone who played and to Guy for organising such a successful evening!
The Quiz Night on Friday was excellent. As predicted, Sal, Guy,Kay & Keith won, but were pushed all the way by some new opponents - Anne, Linda, Jackie and Anthea. Many thanks to Gill for organising such an excellent evening.

Our New Year's Day Auction Tournament went really well. Once we got the hang of an auction, there was some seriously competitive bidding for partners! The tennis was great and we were all rewarded with some mulled wine and nibbles. The winners were Keith & Trish with the joint runners up being Guy & Sarah and cleAand Steve & Mandy. The AGM went well on Tuesday. Fiona stepped down from the secretary post amidst much praise for all the work she has done; our new secretary is Ken Isaacs. We also have a new committee member in James Hunter-Smart, Steve & Di have been voted onto the Selection Committee and Philippa has been elected onto the Tournament Committee.

.Well done to our mini-green team of Jamie, Angus, Sam and Isabel who beat Downton 4-2 in a friendly match on Saturday morning.
Despite the morning snow, the Chairman's Cup went ahead in brilliant sunshine! After an excellent afternoon's tennis (thanks to Guy for his organisation), the final was contested by Ken I, Kay, John & Carolyn Barry. With the rest of the competitors happily downing bucks fizz in the clubhouse,the final proceeded through a blizzard and ended in victory for John & Carolyn. A great tea (thanks to Gill) was then served whilst the Wimbledon draw was done.
The floodlight league has been a great success this year - the winners from 13 teams are The Hosiers (John Barry, James T, James H-S and Briony) with the Porters in second place (Martin P, Tony, Liz C and Kristie). Thanks very much to the Tournament Committee for once again running this excellent league!
Well done to Michael and William who were just beaten in a deciding tie-break in the Under 12 Doubles event at Salisbury's John Jeffreys Tournament.

Our junior tournaments on Wednesday and Thursday went very well. The winner of the mini-orange section was Henry and the mini-green group was won by Jamie. On Thursday the top group was won by Michael with Hayden winning the other group. Thanks to everyone who played!(3.1.08)

Our junior half-term tournaments resulted in an Under 10 win for Angus, Michael winning the Under 12s & Tom & Michael sharing the Under 18s title.

More success! The Ladies have won division 2 of the Southampton League! Annual promotions mean that the Ladies will be in Division 1 next year.

The Grade 5 Junior Rankings Event on Friday went very well despite the poor weather. The Under 12 Boys final was won by Michael Barry who beat Will Jones (also from Riverside) in a deciding tie-break. The Under 14 Boys event was won by Archie Walker from Salisbury tennis club who beat Riverside's James Wilson in another very close final. The Under 14 Girl's event was won by Olivia Wilson from Victoria Park with Charlotte Wells in second place.(4/1/08)
This Saturday saw the Sarum Division 1 return leg of our A team versus our B team. The match was a lively and good-natured affair, played in brilliant sunshine. Not unsurprisingly the B team lost but the A team were made to work very hard for their win and some really good tennis was played by all. Well done to Steve, Fiona, Andy and Liz, Simon W, Mandy, Simon S and Tina. .

Congratulations to the Sarum B team who drew on Sunday to gain a much valued 3rd point. The squad of James T, Glen, Phillipa and Cathy did particularly well against a solid Wellow A side, with the ladies each winning 3 of their 4 sets. (25/11/07)

The Sarum B Team go off to a cracking start this weekend. Newly promoted to Division 1 (and with two new players in the team), it was hard to predict the outcome but the team of Andy James, Tina Beard, James Turner and Mandy Lynch managed a convinvcing 7-1 win over Wellow A. Great start!
