FINALS DAY 2002
Congratulations to Keith Richardson and Liezl Cuff who both retained their singles titles. In a repeat of last year's men's final, Nick won an exciting first set before Keith's consistency won through. Liezl and Kay also had a good match which Liezl won after two sets full of deuce games.
Lunch In The Rain
The men's doubles was a tight affair with the defending champions Nick and Graham warding off Keith & Guy in two close sets.

Action shot!
Unfortunately, the ladies doubles final which was to have been between Liezl/Kay and Claire/Carolyn was a walk-over to Kay and Liezl as a result of Claire's nasty riding accident.
The mixed final produced some good rallies and a well-deserved two set victory for Kay and Keith over Nick and Carolyn.

The veteran's mixed final was really close with Freda and Dennis eventually triumphing over Jean and Bernard in three sets.

The mixed drawn also produced a good final with Guy and Jean eventually beating Tom and Philippa.

The men's plate produced a victory for David Gell over Geoff Lowther.
We also enjoyed some excellent tennis in the junior finals. The girl's singles final produced a very close match between Carly Peebles and Jenny Ball - Carly the eventual winner after three sets.

Both boys finals were won in two sets, Nick Fisher defeated Tom Woolford and Rory Clayden beat Jack Slade.

Thank you to John Barrett, Graham Hull and Brian Cole who organised the tournament, to Rosemary and Philippa for arranging the food and to Jim Rhind-Tutt for presenting the trophies. Thank you also to all the spectators who came to support the finalists - at one stage there were 34 cars in the car park with other people having to park outside. (I'm not really sad enough to be counting cars - this was one of Claire's questions in her quiz!) Talking of the quiz, this also finished today with Guy claiming first prize and David Bell in second place.
